Home values in Spalding County hit an all-time high in March 2022, and now are on the decline. https://www.redfin.com/county/629/GA/Spalding-County/housing-market

The all-time high reassessments issued this year by the County Board of Tax Assessors, who are appointed by the County Board of Commissioners, will increase property taxes to the highest levels Spalding County and the City of Griffin has seen or collected.

Rolling back the millage rate will help the property taxpayer to compensate for the all-time high property reassessments made by the County Board of Tax Assessors this year. The County Board of Commissioners are also discussing to keep the millage rate for the county at 16.138 rather than rollback.
