Attention all citizens who received a citation of the following roads:

Dobbins Mills Road @Jordan Hill Elementary
Dundee Lake Road @Jordan Hill Elementary
North Hill Street Extender@ Jordan Hill Elementary
City of Griffin
Crescent Road @ Crescent Road Elementary
The roads listed above do not have an ATESD Application Submitted by Griffin Spalding County Schools Board of Education (GSCSBOE) to the Georgia Department Transportation (GDOT).
These roads above have never had permits.
In January 2025, a GDOT legal representative confirmed the 14 applications are the only applications the GSCS Board of Education has applied for.
PERMITTED ROADS AND PER SCHOOL ZONES:
Also, GDOT has approved only 14 ATESD permits (see Below).
This has occurred from the program Inception date of April 4, 2022 to February 5, 2025.
According to information received by GDOT legal representative, Griffin Spalding County Board of Education has only submitted 14 ATESD permits and all 14 were approved by GDOT, See below:
SR 155 South Hill Road ONLY at Crescent Road Elementary: SZ-255-000001-3. Approved by GDOT Jan 24, 2022 (ON SYSTEM City of Griffin, GPD) (notice it says South Hill Road and Not South Hill Street) CONFLICT HERE: South Hill Street not South Hill Road is the road running perpendicular to crescent elementary school. Cross section Crescent Road. Also, South Hill Street is north of Crescent Road, while Zebulon Road Runs South of the intersection of Crescent Road. Basically, South Hill Street Turns into Zebulon Road, but for the State for an On-System road its title is SR 155. The only issue would be if the citation was issued for South Hill Street, when the Permit states S, Hill Road/GA 155. For the first part of the program the City of Griffin used South Hill Road as proof from the 2022 Open Records Request data Click to See. And as of December 2024 Open Record request, SZ-255-000001-3 still has South Hill Road on the Roadway listed on the permit application and approved Permit.
Jordan Hill Road ONLY at Jordan Hill Elementary: SZ-255-000002-3. Approved by GDOT Jan 24, 2022. (Sheriff County) CONFLICT HERE: On this application it states N Hill Street Extender/Jordan Hill Road, however, these permits are for one road only and in the upper righthand corner it states this permit is for Jordan Hill Road Only. Jordan Hill and North Hill Street Extender or two distinct roads, needing a permit for each road. Jordan Hill is North of the intersection of the school runs parallel to the school, and North Hill Extender is south of the cross-section of the corner of the school. The cross-section roads are Dobbins Mill and Dundee Lake.
West Poplar Road ONLY at Griffin High School: SZ-255-000003-3. Approved Jan 24, 2022 (City of Griffin, GPD) CONFLICT HERE: WEST POPLAR not Poplar is the road GHS is located on in this speed zone.
Futral Road ONLY at Futral Road Elementary: SZ-255-000004-3. Approved by GDOT Jan 26, 2022. (Sheriff County) Wilson and Futral @ Futral Elementary are conflicting if you see the upper righthand corner it states Futral, but the state highway states Wilson Road. Wilson Road has two Permits and Futral has none, expect for the upper righthand corner of SZ-255-000004-3 below. This could be another road that does not have a proper ATESD permit. See Permit SZ-255-000008-3 Do your due diligence.
Rehoboth Road ONLY at Rehoboth Middle School: SZ-255-000005-3. Approved by GDOT Jan 26, 2022. (Sheriff County)
Birdie Road ONLY at Beaverbrook Elementary: SZ-255-000006-3. Approved by GDOT Jan 26, 2022.
Kennedy Road ONLY at Kennedy Road Middle: SZ-255-000007-3 . Approved by GDOT Jan 26, 2022. . (Sheriff County)
Wilson Road ONLY at Spalding High School: SZ-255-000008-3. Approved by GDOT Jan 26, 2022. . (Sheriff County)
S. McDonough Road ONLY at Rehoboth Middle School: SZ-255-000009-3. Approved by GDOT Jan 26, 2022. (Sheriff County)
Wilson Road ONLY at Futral Road Elementary: SZ-255-000010-3. Approved by GDOT Jan 26, 2022. (Sheriff County) Wilson road has three assigned ATESD but the upper left righthand corner says Wilson on this one. On the SZ-255-000004-3 it states Futral Road,
Cowan Road ONLY at Cowan Road Elementary: SZ-255-000011-3. Approved by GDOT Feb 3, 2022. (Sheriff County)
Moreland Road ONLY at Moreland Road/Carver Road Middle: SZ-255-000012-3. Approved by GDOT Feb 3, 2022. (Sheriff County): CONFLICT HERE, There is no carver road ATESD, but this states Moreland Road @ Morelan Elementary and Carver Road Middle.
Hwy 16/Newnan Road ONLY at Griffin High School: SZ-255-000013-3 at (ON SYSTEM). (Sheriff County) Approved by GDOT on Sept 13, 2022. NOTE OF INTEREST: In the 2022 December 8th Pending Permit, the school zone hours were from 6:35 am to 4:20 pm, and the 2024 Open Record request, the Sept 13,2022 approved permit starts at 7:40 am and ends at 3:00 pm.
Jackson Road/HWY 155 ONLY at Jackson Road Elementary: SZ-255-000014-3: (Both ON SYSTEM). attach 14 (Sheriff County) Approved by GDOT on Sept 13, 2022. NOTE OF INTEREST, the times for the school hours changed from date of the December 8th 2022 Pending Permit, to the Sept 13, 2022 approved permit, the start time in 2022 pending was 7:00 am and end time was 4:00 pm. In 2022 approved permit, the start time was 8:00 am and end time was 2:30pm. Why the change??? (clarified information on actional permit approved versus ORR information received date mix up)
NOTE: Hwy 155 S. Hill Road (speed limit in question by GDOT, unsure if resolved), and Hwy 16, by Griffin High School (Speed limit, and signage, and distant of school zone in Question by GDOT, unsure if resolved). Also, many of the school zones are more than 1,000 feet as per GDOT regulations.
The Combination school zones are also in question due to the difference in times from school start to school finish, and the distance from one school zone to the other.
